Car Detailing by GCV
What Is Car Detailing?
In the UK car detailing is perceived as valeting of the topmost quality, something with which GCV is familiar. It can be difficult to compare one valeting company’s services with those of another. And whilst we offer a range of valets for all but the lowest of budgets, with our detailing service we take both surface preparation and final protection to the next level.
GCV’s service is one of completeness. For example, every valet includes wheel arches being cleaned, wheels cleaned right through, and door openings and edges cleaned and dried, along with others too numerous to list. However, even we admit that with more time it is possible to achieve better results. The significance of our detailing service is that we can provide all of our usual high levels of service but in even greater detail.
Our full detailing service combines the best of our knowledge and skills (amassed over many years) with the best possible products to turn your vehicle into something extra special. This bespoke service can take between 1 and 2 days depending on the condition of the vehicle and services required.
Which surfaces can be detailed?
The range of detailing services we provide allows us to deal with almost every exterior surfaces of your car. Specifically, these are:
The detail of the detail
Paintwork
Paintwork will initially undergo a multi-stage wash and dry. If necessary, contaminants such as tar, industrial fallout, brake dust and rail dust will be removed with tar removal and iron removal solutions. If necessary, it will then be clay barred to remove any residual surface contamination.
The paint will then be inspected to indentify micro-marring or micro-scratches. If required, this will be polished out by either Dual Action or Rotary polisher. Once the paint is as perfect as we can make it, it will be wiped down with isopropyl alcohol to ensure it is ready for the application of the final protective layer.
Alloy wheels
Alloy wheels will first be cleaned with a non-acidic cleaner and thoroughly rinsed. If necessary, tar removal and iron removal solutions will be used to ensure the surfaces are completely clean. Again, if necessary, the faces and all areas accessible from the face will be clay barred to remove contamination. The final stage before application of a sealant is to thoroughly wipe with isopropyl alcohol.
Glass
Glass will be washed and dried. If necessary it will be clay barred to remove contamination. If adversely affected by industrial fallout or brake or rail dust the surface will additionally be treated with an iron removal solution. Finally it will be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol before the final protective layer is applied.
Lights
Headlights and taillights will be treated in a similar manner to the paintwork; washed, and treated for rail dust, brake dust, tar and any other surface contaminants. Headlights can also be polished if necessary using the required elements of Cloudy Headlight Restoration service.
