Clay bar to remove surface contamination
Over time, contamination of surfaces can occur due to tar, rail dust, tree sap and other environmental pollution, all of which can not be removed by washing alone. Some valeters will use Traffic Film Remover (TFR) or solvents to remove these which are harsh on the paintwork, can dull chrome and cause premature aging of rubber seals and plastics.

At GCV, prior to washing we use a gentle citrus cleaner, and following the wash, we use a clay bar with lubricant to pull contamination from the surface (standard in our exterior Platinum valets). This is kinder to the vehicle as well as leaving long-term waxes in tact - after all, we do not expect our customers to pay for a premium wax only to have it removed the next time the car is valeted.

Polishing
Machine polishing includes the elimination of oxidation, and reduction or elimination of minor scratches and swirls. GCV’s Platinum valets include single stage machine polishing. Specialist Glaze, Sealant or Wax
Waxes, glazes and sealants provide the final protection for your newly prepared paintwork. As with many things in life, there is often a compromise - in this case it is durability versus maximum visual impact. At GCV, our standard wax affords a good degree of both.

However, we also offer a range of premium waxes from Collinite, Duragloss and Swissvax, representing some of the world’s most reputable brands. These products have a high content of quality Carnauba and natural conditioning oils. The resulting glossy, water-repellent coating is easier to keep clean and maintains a superb deep gloss shine and maximises resistance to environmental hazards.

Duragloss Approved Detailer
Brothers Research Corp was founded in 1975 by Dr. William Bailey and his brother, Jerry, to begin marketing a new automotive appearance product.

Due to their dissatisfaction with the products being offered at that time, those two car enthusiasts (and chemists) began in 1973 formulating their own automotive polish. The only products available then were difficult to use, left a heavy chalky residue and gave only moderate results in shine.

After two years of research, and over 100 trial formulations, all the above deficiencies were overcome. This revolutionary polish went on easily as a semi-transparent film, easily removed, and created a brilliant, durable gloss that lasted up to a year. The new polish actually gave “a gloss so deep, the finish appeared wet”. The response was so overwhelming that Brothers Research was formed to market this new offering called “Duragloss”®. The phrase “Wet Look”® was used to describe the deep, wet-looking gloss.

Swissvax Best of Show
The famous concours wax from the world-renowned Swiss manufacturer provides a deep, wet 'show car' shine. This wax contains 51% yellow and white Carnauba, so will last longer, shine deeper than almost any other product available. Enriched with coconut and cinnamon oil extracts and containing 51% by volume ultra pure Brazilian white and yellow carnauba wax, Best of Show wax gives your paintwork a lustre ordinarily encountered only on prize-winning classics.

Detailing
Detailing is the US equivalent of valeting. However, here in the UK it is often perceived as valeting of the topmost quality, something with which GCV is familiar. We are able to provide a full detailing service which combines the best of our knowledge and skills with the best possible products to turn your vehicle into something extra special. Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning
Wherever possible GCV uses waterless products for carpet and upholstery cleaning. This provides the obvious environmental benefits, as well as allowing you to use your vehicle almost as soon as it is clean. However, we acknowledge that some more stubborn stains can only be removed by the use of wet cleaning and an extractor. Before cleaning, each vehicle is assessed to determine the most appropriate method to be employed.

For leather upholstery, a gentle cleaner is first used. This is followed by a conditioner that restores, softens and protects the leather, and re-instates the original smell.

Deodorise
GCV can deodorise your vehicle with the latest thermal fogging technology. If the new smell of your car has long since evaporated, whether due to animals, smoke, spillages or, simply, everyday use we can help with our thermal fogging service. The process produces a smoke-like fog that permeates, penetrates and neutralises the unwanted odours. Your vehicle will be left with a pleasant aroma thanks to the disinfectants and counteracting agents contained within our products.

Deodorising your vehicle can add significantly to its resale value. Even if you are not selling it, you can just enjoy that new-car smell again.

Rain-X Rain Repellent
All exterior glass is treated with a solution that disperses rain, sleet and snow thereby improving visibility, safety and driving comfort.

Fog-X Anti-Misting
All interior glass is treated with a solution that eliminates and prevents fogging and steaming. Visibility and, therefore, safety are improved. A must for winter driving.

No water valeting
Clean: As the formula is sprayed on, dirt and other matter are softened, broken down and wrapped in a microscopic ’jelly bean’. There should be no concerns about scratching as the solution is totally safe and actually creates a better environment for dirt removal than soapy water and a sponge. Polish: A blend of high quality polymers will leave a really deep shine. Protect: An ionic compound bonds with every contour of the surface to create a tough protective barrier that will deflect dirt, dust and reduce UV damage. It keeps your car looking cleaner for longer. NB Waterless cleaning is available where circumstances dictate, and subject to vehicle condition.
