GCV - Paintwork correction
Aside from the actual vehicle, the most obvious first impression of that vehicle relates to the condition of its paintwork. This can be anywhere in the range of ’as new’ to showing extreme signs of wear and tear.

GCV’s range of treatments is designed specifically to deal with problems such as dull and faded paintwork (oxidation), contamination, swirl marks, buffer marks, hologram effects, spider’s web and damage caused by bird droppings on exterior paintwork, things that the normal GCV valeting treatments can not remove.

Even the best cars in the world can suffer from some of the above problems and, as surprising as it may seem, many expensive or prestige cars can have poor paintwork from new. Dark coloured cars tend to show these imperfections more than lighter hues, as the latter naturally reflect more light. For many, the assumed answer will be an expensive respray, but GCV can help with treating all of the above problems without the need to repaint the vehicle.

The actual process employed to restore your car’s paintwork will be determined by assessing a number of factors including the severity and extent of the damage, the age of the vehicle and known properties of the manufacturer’s paint.

Through the use of various techniques and machine polishers matched with distinct polishing compounds a minimal amount of paint (1 or 2 microns) is removed to produce the maximum visual impact. This usually consists of 2 or more stages - the first to remove severe damage, and subsequent stage(s) to remove any marks introduced by the first stage, and produce a highly polished finish. In the majority of cases, all of the deficiences mentioned above can be totally removed from all types of paintwork. The visual impact of the car is dramatically improved as the newly restored, and glass like paintwork, can reflect light in a near perfect manner.

The process is finished with the application of an appropriate wax, sealant or glaze. As a minimum, this will be a Collinite, P21s or Poorboys World wax, although it is possible to upgrade to Duragloss or Swissvax Best of Show. All of these products have a high carnauba content which will help to protect the newly prepared paint surface. When completed, the process will not only save the need for an expensive respray, but will also significantly increase the value of your car.
